One + Four = Life | Feb 2016 (Part 2)

Welcome to another One + Four = Life posts! Honestly, the last half of the month was a little uneventful. Still a good couple of weeks, though I have been sick with either a mild cold or allergies. Never sure which one anymore.

Hope you enjoy the glimpse into my life…

Went to the spinal care doctor because I’ve been having back pain since November. This was my awesome getup before the x-ray (which revealed nothing abnormal). I swear these are 7-XL and made for someone 8 feet tall. I felt like a real-life hobbit. Laughing about the gown was the best part of that 3 hour trip. Yes, 3 hours. In a hospital. Lame city…..

Saw The Witch on Sunday. Don’t worry, no spoilers on the plot! Honestly, this is a total Redbox experience, not that I feel ripped off going to the theater. It was just not quite worth theater prices. I was confused by the beginning and the family being banned from their community (??) and a lot of the film was slow moving. The creepy parts were really creepy, just needed to be more fast-paced and creepy all the way through. Overall, just okay, but it got us out of the house.

It’s the little things in life….. Here’s our little girl, Savannah, being super cute as always. We flipped the covers over her head and she was peaking out. After our extensive Star Wars viewing over the last month, we instantly joked that she was secretly a Syth Lord.

Seriously, though, that face!!! Cute!!!

Switched up my workouts the last few weeks, doing new combinations (especially for lower body) and different moves. Oh… my…. god…. I swear my glutes and hams are sore EVERY… SINGLE… DAY. So I basically feel like this –>

My Journey to the Stage ‘aka’ Scared Sh**less – Entry 10: Final Countdown

June 2 – Four more days!! Final countdown! To be perfectly frank, life has been a bitch since my last entry. And so have I. 😀 Good thing I gave my coworkers a heads up because I know I’ve been one ornery bug, especially the first few hours of work or when I start getting hungry.

This last week has been a mental and physical struggle and one that hit me pretty hard. The 2x day training sessions, increased cardio and stress of everything has worn me down a ton. Some days, it’s all I have to stay/be positive, get through my workouts and make it through the day without snapping. I’m still stressed over posing and worried that I’m not going to come in lean and hard enough to place on Saturday. That being said, I’ve realized that throughout this year long process of building muscle and contest prep, there is nothing I could have done more. I’ve busted my ass on training, diet and doing everything possible to prepare my body. There will be improvements in the future but, right now, this is the best I can offer. And I’m proud of that.

Started my tan prep on Sunday, which consists of exfoliating with lemon juice and sugar each day. Shawn reminds me not to eat the sugar 🙂 I can’t wear lotion this week, which makes me feel and look like a super dry raisin.

I’m excited and nervous for tonight. It’s my last posing session with my coach. This will come after my second leg workout of the day, so that will be super fun… LOL I also get to try on my figure suit. At my last posing session, my coach showed me another suit she had just finished making and it was beautiful. And not the one I have reserved. So tonight I’ll get to try on both suits and decide which one I want. The original is a lighter pink, with some bling. The new one is an emerald green with bling and gorgeous. I’m leaning towards the green but will decide when I can see them on. Can’t wait!

And I can’t wait for the journey to be over! 😀

One + Four = Life | May 24

This week was not the greatest, still being sick, stressed and working way too hard. It was a pretty uneventful week, just full of workouts and more workouts and feeling less than stellar. This weekend has been good though. We went to a movie for our “date”, spent time enjoying some normal foods again (carb loading) and I’m ready for the holiday tomorrow and am thankful I don’t have to work. Yay for 3 day weekends!

Hope you enjoy the glimpse into my life….

Post workout meal for this morning. Yesterday and today we’ve been experimenting with carb loading for the comp. It’s actually been nice, mentally and physically, to do this. These are protein pancakes, made with Funfetti Cake Batter protein powder. Oh my god, these were the best things! Super yummy!!!!!

The cute invite to our friend’s baby shower this afternoon. They’re having a girl. The little dragon is an inside joke with this couple. So last weekend, I got to pick out some cute little baby clothes. The party was as fun as baby showers can be (not my favorite thing) but it’s nice to share in someone’s happy moment.

american horror

We started Season 4 of American Horror Story, Freak Show. We loved this show from the first season, even though season 3 wasn’t that great. This one is definitely weird, true to the American Horror Story way, and it’s definitely freaky. Pretty good so far, though the second season has ben my favorite so far.

We did some spring cleaning with our clothes and provided a pretty big box to the MS Foundation. The box was so big and awkward, I had to push it to the front door and out onto the porch. It’s awesome because MS emails me when they’re in the area, I schedule the appointment online and they pick up the box. Easy breazy! I love donating to this cause, they do a fabulous job. It’s a nice feeling to purge the closets AND know you’re helping those less fortunate. Feeling good!
