One + Four = Life | Feb 2016 (Part 1)

Standard

Welcome to another One + Four = Life posts! These are pretty fun to do, though I may not get to them weekly. I’m hoping for bi-monthly because 1) other priorities and 2) my life just isn’t that exciting, sadly.

Hope you enjoy the glimpse into my life…

Had another nerd out last weekend! Went to see a local improv group at The Off Broadway Theater. They performed “Star Ward”, which was a Mormon-themed Star Wars. Not as funny as the local comedy we saw a few weeks ago but still entertaining!

Of course, the Super Bowl!! Great defensive game, glad my Broncos won! Best of all, got to chill at home with the hubs and our little girl and eat homemade cauliflower bites and super yummy chicken wings (both made with combo of Frank’s Red Hot and Parmesan). Mmmmm….. 😀

fondue

“For Your Kitchen” (a local kitchen/gadget store) held a hands-on Fondue night on Feb. 13th. Fondue? Yes please! We were given chicken, veggies, batter and sticks and got to make our own dinner. It was a little awkward (we had to share a pot with 4 other people) and slow but a lot of fun. We made a fun, unique memory together which is my favorite part of any activity.

shakes

What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with Deadpool, wings and shakes?? Okay, we don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day. This was just a typical Sunday date for us. And it was fantastic! We had awesome wings (at our favorite Wingnuts), saw Deadpool (which was f***ing awesome, btw!!!) and then hit up Warren’s drive through for some shakes. Yes, there are 3 shakes and only 2 of us. If the hubs wants different flavors, he gets 2 small shakes. When we got home, we popped in the last season of Star Wars: Clone Wars and enjoyed our shakes. This was seriously the best day of the weekend!

One + Life = Four | June 18

Standard

I’ve been a little behind on my life posts, these last few weeks have been pretty busy. So, here’s a quick recap of everything since my last post on June 7th. (Big breath!) Started adjusting back to “real” life after the comp, it’s still weird not working out as much but I’m loving the fact that I love being at the gym again and don’t see it as a chore. We had a BBQ with our friends last Wednesday, tried some elk burgers and saw their new (well, 6 month old) little boy. It was a fun few hours! Last weekend, we did some things around the house, checked out some tile for our kitchen backsplash and did some relaxing. This week has been spent getting ready for Mexico, we leave tomorrow!!! So excited!!

Hope you enjoy the glimpse into my life….

pool

Okay, this is from a few Sundays ago but it’s a cute pic that I wanted to share. After the gym, we decided to spend a little time at the local pool a few blocks from our house. It was fun walking around the little lagoon area and walking under the water. It was nice to enjoy the warm weather and spend time just kicking back with the hubs.

texas roadhouseWent to lunch with both of our parents and two of our very good friends. I love this place! And the company was great. It was a combo lunch, for my father-in-law’s birthday and an early Father’s Day for my dad since we’ll be gone on the actual day. It’s always great spending time with our wacky family and friends!

VideoAnd last night, I was fortunate to get recruited for some workout videos by an old friend who is super awesome. It was spur of the moment and I had tons of fun! Here’s a pic of one portion of the video. It will be used for marketing purposes for his personal training business. Really glad I was able to do this and, hey, it never hurts to get my face out in the world! 😀

flyingThis will be us tomorrow, on our way to Mexico! We’ll be staying at two different resorts in Playa Del Carmen – I can’t wait for some fun in the sun!!! After the stress of the last few months, between work and the competition, this is a much needed vacation and I’m super excited!

One + Four = Life | May 3

Standard

Had a super busy week and a great weekend! Got to spend time with my mom (late birthday get together), friends and the hubby. Here’s a little snippet of my activities.

Hope you enjoy the glimpse into my life…

backyard

Visited my parents yesterday (late birthday visit to my dad). It was a lovely day, so we sat outside in their backyard. Here is the quaint view from the covered swing. It was great chatting with them, watching the dogs play and enjoying the lovely weather.

me

This was my second attempt at heatless waves (see you tube video by Vivian Vo-Farmer – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsGuWokn47A). My first attempt, I let my hair air dry a little, then pulled it back. The overall results for both were just okay. I doubt I’ll try it again, though the ‘before’ pigtail buns are kind of nice for camping, the gym or just to pull your hair up.

pictures

My picture doesn’t do these canvas prints justice, the colors are absolutely beautiful. During our little shopping session (for my birthday a while back), my mother so kindly treated me to some lovely items. These pictures were from a cute little craft/décor store in the mall. They were 75% off, which was a huge score. I love them and can’t wait to get them on the walls!

food

I am seriously addicted to this meal. It’s white rice, veggies and shredded chicken with Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, Soy Sauce and a few spices all cooked my skillet. Love the flavors! I cook this every chance I get. I do my best to savor every bite, though I really want to just inhale the deliciousness 🙂
